> Art: 3D tortoise shell craft (template found on Pinterest HERE)

> Letter Journal: Practice writing name to finish "desk work"


Deacon: Number 7

> Video: "Number 7 -- StoryBots: Counting for Kids" by Netflix Jr. (YouTube)

> Stacking big blocks in towers of SEVEN blocks

> Number 7 coloring sheet


> Library Book: Desert Girl, Monsoon Boy, by Tara Dairman (with AAC language modeling and conversation)



TUESDAY, MARCH 18th


Special Event: Malachi and I were invited to participate in a press conference with Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) about the GOP's proposed cuts to Medicaid, a horrible threat that would severely impact Disabled kids like Malachi across the country. The event was held at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, WA.




WEDNESDAY, MARCH 19th


Social Group: AAC Social Group six-week session for MALACHI

Malachi's speech therapy center is hosting a weekly club for young, emerging AAC language learners. The kids participate in a story time activity and guided play while practicing using their device.

THURSDAY, MARCH 20th


Malachi: T is for TREES*

> Physical Therapy: Time in standing frame (50 minutes)

> Letter Journal: Practice writing the letter "T" in journal

> Book: Maisy Loves Trees, by Lucy Cousins (with AAC language modeling and conversation)

> Video: "What Tree Rings Can Tell Us" by SciShow Kids (YouTube)

> Hands-on exploration: Examine and observe the tree rings visible on small tree medallions, one for each kid

> Art: Painting tree medallions

> Craft: DIY paper plate "tree stump"

> Video: "What is Tree Bark?" by Ranger Zak (YouTube)

> Sensory/Taste-testing tree bark "cinnamon"

> Hands-on exploration: Examine and observe samples of tree bark (worked on using "descriptive words" with AAC device)

> Sensory/Experimentation: Used black charcoal sticks to rub impressions of the tree bark onto paper

> Letter Journal: Practice writing name to finish "desk work"
