Homeschool WEEK 21 Recap: The LETTER U (for Malachi) and the NUMBER 8 (for Deacon).

MONDAY, MARCH 24th

Our family spent a long weekend in Yakima, Washington, visiting Grandpa Jeff, my dad. We traveled back to western Washington and home on Monday afternoon.

TUESDAY, MARCH 25th

Year-Long Project: Discover Dairy Adopt-A-Cow

The boys have "adopted" a calf this year from a rural dairy farm and will be learning about farm animal care and wellbeing, sustainable farm management practices, and the dairy industry during 2024-25 school year.

The preferred varieties:

Malachi: Black Pepper & Extra Sharp White Cheddar

Deeks: Hickory Smoked

Mom (me!): Hickory Smoked & Extra Sharp White Cheddar

> Physical Therapy: Time in standing frame (1 hour) for MALACHI

Outing: Hiking at Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge on a BEAUTIFUL day -- the first day of spring with temperatures over 70*

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 26th

Social Group: AAC Social Group six-week session for MALACHI

Malachi's speech therapy center is hosting a weekly club for young, emerging AAC language learners. The kids participate in a story time activity and guided play while practicing using their device.

We also talked about units of measurement and practiced using a measuring tape to determine the size, in inches, of our "urchin"

Appointment: Infusion Clinic for MALACHI at Seattle Children's Hospital (to receive medication aimed at improving bone density). Unfortunately, Malachi tested positive for a respiratory virus and couldn't receive the infusion.
